The World — Salvador Dali Tarot

What Does The World Mean in the Dali Tarot?

The World is the goal reached. It closes the journey of the Major Arcana with an image of fulfillment: what The Fool began comes to its end here. In the Dali Tarot it speaks of achievement, of completed cycles and of the satisfaction of having arrived.

What The World Looks Like in Dalí’s Deck

Three pale nude figures, embracing in the manner of the Three Graces, stand at the left of a red, curtained space that recalls a stage. At the back, in a dark frame, a face with red lips can be made out.

The card carries the number XXI, the Hebrew letter Tav (ת), the last of the alphabet, and the sign of Taurus. If The Magician opened the series with the first letter, The World closes it with the last: the journey is complete.

Keywords

  • Completion and achievement
  • Fulfillment
  • Integration
  • Travel and wide horizons
  • Reversed: loose ends, delays, lack of closure

The World Upright

Upright, The World announces the happy end of a cycle. You finish what you started, gather the fruits and feel that you are where you belong. It favors travel, recognition and projects that are finally completed. Enjoy the moment: a new beginning will follow.

The World Reversed

Reversed, one last step is missing. The project is almost finished but something is left pending, or the achievement does not fulfill you as you expected. It can point to delays or to a fear of closing a chapter. Work out what remains to be resolved and complete it.

The World in Love

In love it speaks of fulfillment: a mature relationship, a commitment that is consolidated, the feeling of having found your place. Reversed, it describes a story that lacks closure or definition.

The World in Work and Money

At work it announces goals met, recognition, international projects or a professional cycle that ends well. With money, it indicates stability earned through effort.

The World in a Three-Card Reading

  • Past or background: you closed an important cycle, and the assurance you move with today comes from that.
  • Present or central energy: you are arriving. Complete what is missing and give yourself permission to celebrate.
  • Near future or guidance: the culmination of something you have been working on for a long time is approaching.
